Erik grew up in Charlotte, NC and graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill. Afterwards, he traveled the Great Plains documenting storm chasers as they hunted down tornadoes. The next adventure for him was a solo bicycle journey across America. He got his first break in the film industry working in the visual effects department on the film The Patriot. Later, he was on the crew of the feature films Shallow Hal and Talladega Nights. Erik has also worked hundreds of national commercial spots, and dozens of feature films and television shows.
Currently, Erik is based out of Charlotte as a freelance director of photography. Recent documentary projects had him traveling around the globe, from deep into the Amazon region of Brazil, to Africa, Mongolia, India, and Haiti to name a few. As a director of photography, Erik has shot eight feature films, numerous short films, music videos, documentaries and television shows.

Lead Field Producer Ruth Duncan
Ruth Duncan grew up outside Chicago, Illinois asking too many questions. She inquired about so many things that her Dad bought her an encyclopedia set to quiet her down. Ruth believes that when you stop learning at your job it’s time to move on. As an adult, she happened onto a career path that feeds someone with an insatiable inquisitiveness. Film production offers never-ending challenges and opportunities for learning.
Ruth spent a decade gaining her experience from the bottom rung up. She started as a production assistant and quickly gained a reputation for being hard working, reliable and passionate. She knew she loved the work immediately and it didn’t take long for her to move up the ladder. Ruth has been fortunate to work with an impressive slate of directors and cinematographers on hundreds of national commercials in the role of manager or coordinator. Print campaigns, independent film and documentary projects have allowed her to cut her teeth as a producer. Ruth’s professional future holds more documentary films. She is particularly focused on projects that have the ability to bring positive change to fruition. She believes that being heard empowers people. “Being a conduit for that empowerment,” she says, “is a privilege and a pleasure.”
